As families check off the names on their buying lists, we’d like once again to remind folks to try Christmas shopping in Rappahannock. Dollars spent in our community stay in the county to support our businesses, government and schools.
We have hundreds of unique choices on the shelves of our gift and craft stores—one of a kind baskets, handblown glass pieces, pottery, paintings, photographic prints. patchwork pillowrs, and clothes, apple dolls, dried flowers, furniture—many are the work of local people—the list is a mile long.
In addition, our businesses have a wide selection of quality goods imported from beyond the county’s borders.
We’ve heard store keepers complain that Rappahannock residents bring their friends in to see the picturesque shops in Washington and Sperryville. They’re proud of the quality of commercial ventures here and delight in hearing visitors “ooh” and “aah” over the quaint little stores. But they don’t spend their money. It’s primarily
