To encourage parents to provide reading experiences for their children, the Reading Affirmative Action Committee of the Rappahannock County public school system will send home bimonthly newsletters with the elementary and secondary school students starting the end of March. The newsletter will contain helpful tips for parents to stimulate their children to read and write at home. Book reviews will be provided as an aid for choosing books for children and adults. Games that can be purchased or made inexpensively at home will be suggested as sources for building reading and language skills. A presummer issue will contain local library events as well as those held in Warrenton, Front Royal, Madison, and Culpeper to encourage parents and children to continue reading activities throughout the summer.
