A final budget reflecting Tuesday’s changes will be available next week, Eastabrook said. Cuts made last week, primarily in fuel costs, equal $44,777. Tuesday’s reductions will be determined after the impact of the salary cuts is analyzed, but the superintendent estimated that they would total a very rough figure of $40,000, or $10,000 for each percent of decrease in pay hikes.
Last week, Estabrook estimated that the proposed budget, weighed against revenues from federal and state sources, would demand to total of $1,311,926 from the county for the total budget of $2,661,524, or $81,443 over last year’s county share.
Revised according to cuts made last week the total equals $1,267,149 from the county, or $25,042 more than last year’s. Tuesday’s cuts will significantly reduce that amount.
