Rappahannock’s Water and Sewer Authority flashed a “go” sign to the engineers this week after receiving confirmation that the Environmental Protection Agency has approved a supplemental grant to finance final design work on Sperryville’s sewer project.
“We can call tonight and . say go to work 'cause the money is there’,” announced WSA member Donald Gore at Monday evening’s meeting of the Authority.
State Water Control Board representatives Charlie Massie from Richmond and Stu Wilson from the Alexandria office confirmed that $82,385 will be available to draw from within two weeks. Approximately $9,000 is money leftover from an earlier federal grant and the remainder comes from the uncommitted portion of the $116,533 supplemental grant recently awarded by EPA.
