Piedmont recently 'held district contests sponsored by the VICA Club (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America). Rappahannock County had two first place winners in these contests. Margaret Smoot won first place in the Needle Trades contest and Brent Wilson won first place in the Small Engine Repair contest. These students will go on to state competition where they will compete against other district winners in the state of Virginia. If they win at state they will be entitled to go to the U.S. Skill Olympics held in Louisville, Ky. in June where they will compete with students from all over the United States.
