To the editor:
It is interesting to read a newspaper article regarding prison budgets, new laws and prison management which makes sense. Such an article was written by Mr. Bowles last week.
Citizens in Virginia should be proud of the quality of corrections personnel they are paying for. Corrections employees from Officers to Administrators are hardworking, dedicated and trained professionals. Our tax dollars have created this situation and, let’s face it, corrections - “prisons” - have in the past operated on a “shoestring” budget, dollars used sparingly to accomplish a monumental task.
