Pets Getting Ready
For Fodderstack Show
Dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, hamsters, gerbils, mice and rabbits should start working on their owners now to get ready for the Fodderstack Day Pet Show on Saturday, April 16.
The show is open to pet owners of all ages. Handlers 16 years and under will compete in the children’s category and those over 16 in the adult group.
The following classes will be offered: (1) large dogs, 12 inches and over, (2) small dogs, under 12 inches, cats in cages (3) rabbits, (4) gerbils and mice in cages, (5) hamsters in cages, (6) kittens, (7) puppies, (8) best dressed pet, (9) adult, open to adult handlers of pets not shown in other categories.
All pets and handlers must be on the show grounds next to the Washington Gash Store before 1 p.m. to register. Dogs and cats must have had distempter, rabies and hepatitis innovations. Entry fee is 50 cents per class and ribbons and prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will be available on the grounds.
Judges for the show, which is being sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, are Mrs. Emmet White and Bill Lyne.
Application forms are available at Eileen Day’s realty office in the Clopton House and at the Rappahannoek Extension office.
