Graduation came and interrupted her association with Scouting. Later, married to her husband Howdy, a Naval Officer, she traveled to Trinidad and helped organize a Scout troop on the base there. Then when her daughter was eight years old, she resumed fulltime involvement, this time as a leader. “In all the time since, I’ve never stopped being a registerred Scout— that’s 37 years,” Helen said. UI had such a marvelous experience as a Girl Scout, I just had to help give my daughter and other girls that same experience. ”
