Foreign Language
Bruce Vierling said he would like to see a second foreign language, specifically Spanish, taught at the high school. “It would be nice to have several others,” he said. “It would be awfully nice to introduce foreign language in the elementary school.”
High school principal Robert Chappell, who was in the audience, pointed out that new state requirements for advanced diplomas will mean additional foreign language offerings. “Before we branch out we need to take a look at how new state requirements affect our present program,” he said.
(Chappell previously explained that a 22 credit diploma requires three credits of one foreign language or four credits in two languages. The school presently has a transfer student
