MR. AND MRS. F.M. BAUMGARDNER
of Alexandria had recently purchased “Bellvue”, known as the old Jackson Place, from Dr. Jackson Stuart and Mr. William Stuart. The sale was negotiated by W.A. Miller, broker.
Rappahannock Republican Chairman Morgan T. Johnston presided over a meeting at the home of J.E.B. Dahlgren. The purpose of the meeting was not reported.
Approximately 300 people had attended the senior class variety show at the high school. It was reported that the students had realized some $175 for their class trip to New York. The show was directed by Mrs. Bradley Williams of Chester Gap.
In its report of condition, the Rappahannock National Bank of Washington reported total assets of $1,653,687.67 and total liabilties of $1,489,488.48. Those figures were attested as correct by cashier C.J. Miller, Jr. and directors E.M. Jones, H.S. Barksdale and D.D. Miller as of the dose of business on March 12, 1969.
