The Holschuhs were living in Northern Virginia when they bought their land at Rock Mills in Rappahannock County 28 years ago. “My troops in Northern Virginia used it for a camp site. When we retired and moved into the house they used as a camping base, we didn’t want to end the contact. We wanted to stay in touch so Howdy’s mother built the Shaw House (now camping headquarters) on our lirnd. Girl Scouts have brothers who are Boy Scouts so we’ve had boys out here using it too—as many as 600 Scouts in a year,” Helen noted. *:
