Deductions

The board members had started their line by line review in a mood for cutting. They took away $220 intended to provide themselves mileage for attending board meetings.

They then reduced the superintendent’s request for $2,600 for administration office supplies and stationery by $300. This portion of the budget includes an initial inventory of computer paper for the new terminal Estabrook seeks for bookkeeping processes at the administration.

While they were looking for ways to cust costs the board members asked Estabrook to get figures on other brands of computers to see if a less expensive model would be compatible with the main frame at Piedmont Technical Center. Estabrook said he would have figures by next week.

The board also voted to postpone purchase of an air operated end lift at the bus shop. This substracted another $1,600 from the budget.
