Acknowledging the requirement for a sanitary landfill In Rappahannock County, we fire undersigned hereby register our concerns about the proposed location and operation of file Rappahannock County Sanitary landfill on file site known as the Matgolls property, on County Route 621. We hereby submit this PETITION: 1. As citizens of the County, it is our responsibility to participate in matters of vital concern to all, particularly those Involving large-scale economic and environmental impact. 2. That the proposed removal of County dumpsters will result in indiscriminate dumping of refuse and require round-trip distances of up to 30 miles for some residents. f . 1 ^ 3. That tax revenue loss caused by locating the landfill In a high tax base area would be passed on to taxpayers county-wide.
