Vacation Bible School At Gid Brown Vacation Bible School will begin at Gid Brown Bible Church near Washington on Monday, June 17, and continue through Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m. each evening. The theme for the week will be “A Changeless Christ For A Changing World.” There will be classes for all ages. Jerry Whiteheart, pastor of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina, will speak to the adult class. Refreshments will be served each evening. A nursery will be provided for infants through three years of age. Transportation can be arranged by calling 675-3662. All area youngsters and adults are invited.
Father’s Day Celebration At
Slate Mills Baptist Church The Slate Mills Baptist Church will be observing Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11. The pastor, Rev. J. Harold Eaton, will deliver the message. Following the worship hour there will be a cookout in honor of the fathers. Hamburgers and hot dogs along with covered dishes will be served. The public is invited to attend.
