The Rappahannock County School Board received and accepted bids from three different companies for the 198586 school year’s fuel needs during its meeting on Tuesday, June 11.
The three are the same companies that were used during the last school year. Morris Coal Conjpany of Luray submitted a bid to inppfy the system’s coal needs at $89 per ton. Holtzman Oil Company of Mount Jackson won the contract for fuel oil with a price of 76.1 cents per gallon. The low bids for regular leaded and unleaded gasoline were submitted by Nish North and Son of Huntly. Their price was 93 cents for regular leaded and 97 cents for regular unleaded. The prices for fuel oil and gasoline will fluctuate during the year.
