bell about the recent school bus accident. Campbell said that nothing had been determined from the mechanical investigations of the bus, but that the driver, Joan Kaye Hall, had indicated that the bus’ brakes had failed.
“We have no reason to doubt what the driver said,” Campbell said. “Our preventive maintenance is good on those buses, though, or we wouldn’t have the safety record we do have.”
At the beginning of the meeting, board members went outside to inspect a bus driven and maintained by Roberta Jenkins. “This bus is a year old, but it looks like it has never been driven,” Campbell said.
