Shair-peis are husky as babies, and they walk and eat early. “There are not as many problems with Shairpei babies as there are with other breeds,” Ylva said. “I absolutely love the babies, and I enjoy every minute with them. It’s always hard to let the puppies go because I become attached to each of them.”
The puppies are usually sold when they are eight weeks old. “The people want them as soon as they can get them, and the puppies are weaned by that time,” Ylva said. “For some, it may take a little longer because I want to make sure they are eating well and are progressing as they should.”
