According to the release, the piping system throughout Sperryville consists of low pressure pipelines through which sewage is pumped by the individual pumps in each homeowner’s septic tank. The electrical power to operate the pump will be the homeowner’s responsibility. Authority chairman Bob Dennis said that monthly power costs should be minimal.
The system will serve more than 150 units including 125 residential structures. It /will be designed to handle 195 equivalent dwelling units with a total cost of $2,051,824. An EPA construction grant will provide $1,531,714 and a Community Development Block Grant will cover the remaining $520,110.
