6Witness’ “Witness,” a spellbinding thriller that combines top suspense with an intoxicating romance, will be shown on Sept. 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gay St. Theatre. Harrison Ford stars as John Book, a tough Philadelphia cop, heading the investigation into the brutal murder of an undercover agent. His only witness is a young Amish boy on his first trip into the city with his recently widowed mother. Evidence points to a fellow police officer and Bood is forced to flee to the relative safety of the widow’s farm house. Home Extension Club The Flint Hill Home Extension Club will meet on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Polly Payne.

Pool closing The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center pool will be open for two final days for the season on Sept. 7 and 8 from noon to 6 p.m. The Center invites all.-of its friends and supporters to come and take one last “dip” before the leaves begin to fall. For more information on this and other Center activities, call the Center office at 635-7171 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aerobic dance A six week series of aerobic dance classes will begin Sept. 9. Classes at the Flint Hill Fire Hall wall be Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 4 p.m. A sitter is available for the afternoon classes. Evening classes will be at Rappahannock Elementary School on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. The fee is $25 for twice a week and $35 for unlimited attendance. Energy conference The Industrial Wood Energy Conference will be held on Sept. 18 at the Sheraton International Conference Center in Reston. The conference fee is $20 and the registration deadline is Sept. 11. For additional information, call the Extension office at 675-3619. Homemakers craft sale The 14th annual Culpeper County Extension Homemakers Craft Sale will be held Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Homemakers Building on the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprise grounds on Route 29 south. The sale will feature crafts and homemade food items prepared by members of the seven active clubs in Culpeper. Area crafters interested in space for demonstrations or sales should contact June Lewis at 937-4352. Space is limited.
