helper and when the boy asked him, the lion tamer agreed to give him a chance. ‘See that cage over there?’ he asked the boy. ‘I want you to go over and clean that cage.’
“ ‘Where’s the lion going to be while I’m cleaning?’ the boy wanted to know. Why, he’ll be in the cage with you,’ the lion tamer answered. Of course, the child went right back home to mommy and daddy,” Bobbino related with a chuckle.
“That would be the attitude of anyone with the circus,” she adds. “Parents certainly don’t have to worry about us luring their little ones away.”
In fact, the Roberts Brothers circus that will be in Amissville next week shouldn’t give parents anything to worry about, Bobbino stresses.
“This is nostalgia, a family show, a recreation of the old-timey circuses that once toured America every summer.”
This season, she notes, the circus has played to bigger crowds than normal.
