‘Clarence Darrow’ presented A one-man show about this “monumental giant of trial law” will be coming to the Gay St. Theatre of Washington on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. The play, orginally performed by Henry Fonda on Broadway, portrays Clarence Darrow’s battles in the courtroom as well as his personal life. It will be performed by Ted Eiland of Florida and is being produced by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, a non-profit, volunteer organization. Admission is $6 ($5 for RAAC members). Call 675-3193 for information.
Mental Health meeting The Mental Health meeting will be held at Lee Nettles’ office in the Clopton House in Washington on Sept. 11 at 4 p.m.
Literacy program The Child Care and Learning Center and the Rappahannock County Library will co-sponsor a presentation by the Literacy Volunteers of America at the Gay St. Theatre on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. There will be a short visual program on the volunteer tutorial system used by LVA and Steve Deupree, the chairman of Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville, will be present to answer questions about starting a Literacy Volunteer program in Rappahannock.
