John 8:24,28,58 where he took the name “I am” that God had revealed to Moses. In verse 24 he states, “If ye believe not that I am, ye shall die in your sins.” Therefore, if your faith is in some Jesus who is not God, you are still in your sins. I plead with you to trust the real Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible, God the Son, to be your saviour.
Sometimes a person will substitute faith in something he himself has done in place of faith in Jesus. Whenever I ask a person if he is saved and he starts to tell me about “walking the aisle” or “praying the sinners’ prayer” it makes me wonder what his faith is really in. Is it in Jesus, or is it ip walking the aisle? These things that people do in public meetings do not help in salvation, but often just get in the way. The greatest tragedy of them is that people sometimes go through these rituals and think they are saved, but are not because their faith is in the ritual rather than in Jesus. In order to be saved you must in the innermost recesses of your heart and mind trust God the Son as your saviour.
