generally supportive of their school came as no surprise.
But what caught our attention was the fact that parents of elementary school children rated the school even higher than did teachers.
Particularly, parents rated those areas of basic educational value as high as could be expected on any such survey.
We expected the reaction of parents to follow a bell curve, that most common of responses in a survey of this type.
Whether the extraordinary ratings are a result of good public relations work or the honest reaction of parents who wholeheartedly believe their children are getting the best education possible, is, naturally, impossible to determine.
We hope the results reflect the latter.
Nevertheless, it is refreshing to see parents stand up for their children’s school and proclaim their support.
We only hope that pledging such support does not some day blind parents, that they can criticize the system for the sake of improving those areas which are in need of improvement.
