The Friends of Flossie are asking others who knew this grand lady to remember the advice she gave and the anecdotes she told. “Jot them down or call one of us and pass the stories on,” said Mrs. Parrish.
“If you ever lent Flossie a cookbook, shake it out,” Mrs. Scherer requested. “She’d get ideas every time she’d look through a cookbook and she’d make notes. I found several scraps of paper with suggestions scribbled on them in a cookbook I lent her.”

To raise money to cover printing costs, the Friends of Flossie plan a special showing later this summer of a video film taken in her garden. In addition, they’ll pass the hat among themselves and hope that other folks who want to help with the project will do the same. Those who would like to make a donation can mail it to the Flossie Williamson Fund, in care of Quita Parrish, Thornton River Farm, Viewtown, Va. 22746.
Once printed, the cookbook will be available at the Rappahannock Library, Trinity Episcopal Church and other outlets in the county.
