To the editor:

Has this county got a morale problem? Getting people to help is like pulling teeth!

Is there a lack of interest and support towards the playground or just general disinterest? Doesn’t anyone read this newspaper? There REALLY is a playground out there!

And you can thank Kenny Rogers, Pat Foster and Ken Welk for being there every single weekend from 7 a.m. till 6 p.m. Three regular workers and a small group of skilled part-time volunteers are trying to build something worthwhile out behind the school. Where are all the skilled carpenters and handymen with kids in school?

Can’t you squeeze just a few more hours out of your weekend? Isn’t it embarrasing when you see the same poeple turn out for community projects over and over again? Don’t you wonder why THEY do it?

I know it’s garden time, vacation time and all kinds of other time, but this is the last week of school and probably the last OFFICIAL Playground work weekend. Do something, PLEASE!
