This year, June brings us below average temperatures but rainfall will be average. Storms are predicted for the first two days, followed by changeable conditions the 7th-10th, while the 11th through the 15th will see a fair and warming trend. There will be plenty of moisture during the 15th through the 21st period. After a brief fair and mild two days, the 22nd and 23rd, storms will reappear the 24th and 25th. We call for fair and mild conditions on the 26th and 27th, but the month winds up with a forecast of changeable for the last three days, 28th-30th.

Tornado Watch

Look for cyclonic winds the 1st and 2nd in the Mid Atlantic area and again on the 23rd and 24th from Pennsylvania to the north.

Full Moon appears at 10:42 p.m. on the 21st, coinciding with the Summer Solstice which occurs at 11:30 a.m. This full moon is often referred to as the Strawberry Moon.

In The Garden

Applying too much fertilizer to tomatoes before blossoms have set will produce good vegetation but precious little fruit. You’ll do well to keep the plants staked for the most perfect fruit.

Vacation Time

Now that schools are out and the youngsters are enjoying the freedom of summertime, be especially careful when driving in areas where they may be playing. Our children are America’s greatest natural resource. Drive Safely!
