In a special assembly at Wakefield School this week, Eric Adamson, a Front Royal attorney and member of the Rotary Club, presented three students with prizes for their entries in the World Peace Contest.
The contest, sponsored by the Rotary' Club, required students to write letters of 450-600 words to a recognized world leader on how world peace can best be achieved.
David Norris of Haymarket won first place in the local contest as well as the district contest which included entries from the District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Anne Dunning of Boyce was second and Katherine

earns MD degree
DaVid Brooke Miller of Washington was graduated May 18 from the School of Medicine of the University of Virginia.
Dr. Miller is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School and was salutatorian of his class in 1974. He attended VPI, where he was named Phi Beta Kappa and was graduated magna cum laude.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Newbill Miller of Washington, he is married to the former Anne Holmes of Highland Springs, Va.
Dr. Miller will serve his internship at Riverside Hospital in Newport News.
