Cecil Taylor
Cecil Lester Taylor, 8T, of Sperryville, died May 29 at Montvue Nursing Home in Luray.
Mr. Taylor was bom March 11, 1905, in Madison County, son of the late Walter Delon and Hester Sisk Taylor. He was married to the late Metilda Mae Jenkins. He was a retired farmer and employee of the Virginia Oak Tannery.
He is survived by 11 sons, Bobby Taylor of Sperryville, Ronald Taylor and Alfred Taylor of Hyattsville, Md., Cecil L. Taylor, Jr., and Pete Taylor of Gaithersburg, Md., Reuben Taylor and Roger Taylor of Orange, James Taylor of Langley Park, Md., Willis Taylor and Charles Taylor of Wheaton, Md., and Richard Taylor of Largo, Fla.; three daughters, Geneva Jenkins of Woodville, Betty White of Takoma Park, Md., and Frances Taylor of Germantown, Md.
Additional survivors include a sister, Mattie Sours of Stanley, 38 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 1 at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by Rev. Charles Clindenist. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Stanley.
Thomas Starks, Sr.
Thomas Randolph Starks, Sr., 90, died May 29 at his home at Woodville.
Survivors include his wife Lizzie Butler Starks of Woodville, four daughters, Irene Wilson, Washington, D. C., Lelia Clark, Woodville, Ellen Fletcher, Washington, and Thelma Vales, California, a son Thomas Starks of Woodville, and 13 grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted June 1 at the Starks family cemetery in Woodville by Rev. John Pendleton of Flint Hill.
Strother Pullen
Strother Roscoe Pullen, 78, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Rappahannock County, died June 1 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
