‘A touch of class9
The movie A touch of class will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. A comic love story starring an American married man, George Segal, and an unmarried Britisher, Glenda Jackson who meet, vacation in Spain, and experience a series of mishaps, mixups, and misadventures. For her fast and funny light comedy role, Jackson received the Academy Award as Best Actress for the second time in three years. A cute and entertaining comedy for a winter’s evening. The movie is rated PG. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Historical Society meeting .
The winter meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be held on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Courthouse on Gay Street. The speaker will be Judge Harris Grimsley and the topic of discussion will be “Events Leading up to the Constitution of the United States. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
Fashion show planned
The annual fashion show sponsored by the Rappahannock Woman’s Club will be held Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. Fashions are by Franks and Warren Quality of Front Royal, Jack & Jill of Culpeper, The Second Look and The Peppermint Stick of Madison.
This years show, “Bon Voyage” will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School and proceeds will go toward the Woman’s Club scholarship and Rappahannock Area Little League Baseball safety equipment. Advance tickets or patron ads may be purchased from any member.
‘Artists and Friends9 at Middle St.
There will be an opening of the “Gallery Artists and Friends” show on Saturday, March 7 from 5 to 10 at the Middle Street Galleiy. The show is a survey of work from Los Angeles to New York, from Chile to Moscow and points-in-between. It will also include the premiere showing of photographs by Russian Edik Gladkov who was former official photographer for Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
Auction planned

The Extension Office is sponsoring a Consumerama Bowl A Judging Team on April 26. Young people, would you like to learn what to look for when you shop for jeans, breakfast cereal, cameras, and calculators? ‘Family Night9 planned
Family Worship Center will be having “Family Night” on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. A Christian film will be shown and refreshments will also be served. All are welcomed. Family Worship is located in the old school building in Washington.
RSVP offers senior discount cards
Volunteers from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be offering residents of this Planning District who are over sixty years old the opportunity to obtain permanent Identification Cards

Hie cards, which take only a few minutes to make, will be issued by volunteers on behalf of the aging program of the RappahannockRapidan Community Services Center. A donation of $2.00 is asked for each card to help cover costs.
The cards will be issued on Tuesday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Services Center Building at 401 South Main Street in Culpeper.
Inquiries may be directed to the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center at 826-4242. No appointment is necessary to receive a card.
Quaker meeting
There will be an hour of silent worship from 10 to 11 a.m. every Sunday at Middle Street Gallery.
