of the National Daughters of American Revolution have presented a DAR Good Citizenship Award to Paul Christopher White, a student at Wakefield School.
Nails picked up from town streets are being examined by Dorothy Hawkins, a member of the Washington Town Council. The nails, the flat type used in flooring, have plagued residents of Gay Street and Mount Salem Avenue, causing flat tires and much speculation as to their origin. Mrs. Hawkins said that the position of the nails in the streets indicates that they may have been scattered intentionally, although she added that the council certainly “hopes they weren’t.”
