CCLC community events
In the coming weeks the Child Care and Learning Center, located on Rt. 211 just west of Washington, will be sponsoring a variety of programs for the community:
Piano lessons for children and adults: Susan Hunt, a Yale University graduate with a BA in music, is offering lessons for beginning and intermediate students. The cost is $7 per hour. To arrange a time, call CCLC (675-3237) or Susan Hunt (675-3541).
Research opportunity: The Rappahannock County Clerk’s Office will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 11 and 25. Clerk Diane Bruce will be in the office to provide assistance in locating records.
Personal Growth Skills in the Age of Technology: Marque Kolack, educator and consultant , will give a survey of techniques for realizing creative potential. The seminar will be held Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CCLC. The cost is $15. This session is an introduction to a series Mr. Kolack will be teaching on Mondays from March 16 to April 20. The classes will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost for the series is $45. Le^ni to tead music: Susan Hunt will teach a six-week course de- ' signed to teach the amateur musician how to read music. Emphasis will bei on note reading, rhythm counting, understanding basic harmonies and tonal relationships. The course will be held on Tuesday " nights from 7:30 to 9:30 at CCLC through March 31. Rappahannock Speech and Learning Clinic: Speech therapy, learning disability remediation and educational tutoring for children and adults are being offered by appointment at CCLC. The clinic’s director is Sid Gottleib, Ph.D, MA, CCC, a speech pathologist in private practice. He is licensed by the State of Virginia. Assisting at the clinic is Margaret Gottleib, a certified teacher with extensive experience in preschool education and learning disability remediation.
