Literacy Volunteers to meet The Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will hold a planning session on Friday, March 6 at 9 a.m. at The Child Care and Learning Center, Rt. 211, Washington. Local volunteers seek to reduce the county’s 20 percent illiteracy (U. S. Census Bureau Statistics) by tutoring all Rappahannock residents desiring to improve their ability to read and write. Washington Business Council to meet The Washington Business Council will meet on Thursday, March 6 at 6:16 p.m. at Heritage House, the home of Jim and Nan Thomasson. All members are urged to attend this important meeting.
Spaghetti dinner The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on March 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for 6-12 years old and 4 and under is free. Call 937-4367 for additional information.
Movie hour for pre-schoolers Movies scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at the Rappahannock County Library are: A Is For Alphabet; Harold and the Purple Crayon; Foolish Frog; Madeline’s Rescue; and / Know an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly. Showtime is 10 to 11 a.m. All area preschoolers are invited and the movies are free.
