The February meeting of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, was held at the Holiday Inn on the 10th, Mrs. Douglas D. Fairfax, Regent, presiding.
Mrs. Woodruth Kearns spoke on Paul Revere, Artisan and American, relating little known facts about his life:
He printed the first Continental currency; he made the State Seal of Massachusetts still being used today; he cast the bronze cannon for the Army; he designed and manufactured teeth from animals, primarily sheep; he cast church bells, including the bell on the USS Constitution, and designed and manufactured Revere silver which is famous worldwide.
His best known contribution is the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere warning his friends and fellow patriots thatthe “British are coming.”
