A highlight of the holiday season is the unique brand of colonial-style decorations which adorn the colonial capital city. The exteriors of all the buildings sport decorations made from natural materials. So it is a must to take a self-guided tour of the city or one of the special holiday decorations tours available during the season. In addition, interiors of several of the exhibition buildings such as the large, stately George Wythe House also are decorated. Special holiday events are timed to allow visitors ample opportunity to tour the Historic Area and enjoy the decorations in addition to participating in scheduled Christmas activities.
