“Most expectant parents want their families to be with them for support and to share the excitement and the joy of a new baby. As nurses, we want to give excellent health care to the mother and baby and to support the family with understanding and help,” says Wilma Myers, RN, coordinator of the Matemal/Child Health Department at CMH.
"At CMH, parents can choose among many options and services to have a birth experience that meets their own preferences, and we will comply with their requests whenever possible.”
Many new parents feel their birth will be easier if they are prepared for it. Our Prepared Childbirth classes inform expectant parents about the changes and experiences that will come. The instructors are experienced nurses who cover all aspects of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and include instruction on care of the newborn. The three obstetricians on staff at CMH are board certified and provide skilled and comprehensive obstetrical care.
