FBLA students

attend seminar

Fourteen Future Business Leader of America students and three advisers attended the National Fall Leadership Conference held Friday, Nov. 20 thru Sunday, Nov. 22 in Washington, D.C., at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Knight Kiplinger, editor-in-chief of Changing Times, was the keynote speaker. He said that as a result of his organzation’s research, he feels that the individual with a four-year liberal arts education has a better chance to succeed in today’s businesses and industries than one who specializes in one specific area.

Piedmont’s participants in the educational workshops included Eugene Hodge, Ralna Trout, Tommy Dodson, Travis Wiley, Lisa Carpenter, Apollo Cotton, Neil Dowell, Vicky Gordon, Cindy McFarland, Francis Powell, Crystal Stallard, Pamela Sykes, Robin Shanks, J.J. Jubilee, and advisers Nancy Smith, Jim McCormick and Nancy Pettengill.

According to Tommy Dodson, “The conference was a fun-filled, extremely short learning experience that will be remembered for a long time.”
