Supervisor A1 Henry voiced support for sending Mr. Joyce to answer questions from the Culpeper supervisors and that board’s landfill committee but worried about the consultant facing a barrage from angry citizens. “I don’t want to see a turkey shoot... This is a Rappahannock County project. It’s something we need in this county. We should answer their concerns on an equal basis, supervisor to supervisor, supervisor to Mr. Joyce.”
By consensus, the board agreed to relay that position to the chairman of Culpeper’s board and to send Rappahannock Chairman Hubert Gilkey and administrative assistant John McCarthy with Mr. Joyce to the Dec. 16 session.
