All requests are subject to County Committee consideration. The amount of soil loss before the practice and the amount of soil saved by carrying out the practice will be considered. Funds will be targeted toward practices that save the most soil. No cost share will be paid on any practice that is started before committee approval, Mr. Williams emphasized.
Soil tests are required for practices involving lime and/or fertilizer. Tests made within the past two years are acceptable. Bring sample or soil-test results sheet when registering for the program.
“Be sure to sign up by Dec. 15,” Mr. Williams said. “This Mill likely be the only sign-up period for 1988 funds.”
By law, program eligibility is limited to agricultural producers.
