And that is the wave of the future!” Those picking the workers for the new factory weren’t looking for just high school literacy, which is too often lacking in America’s high school graduates; “they demanded collegelevel thinking,” Ms. Marshall reported.
If Rappahannock is to better its record of sending just 16 percent of its graduates on to four-year colleges, “We must have salaries that will keep our good teachers here and attract dedicated new teachers,” said Ms. Marshall.
