Benefit auction March 19 A public auction sponsored by Amissville Volunteer Fire Department is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the fire house. A vast array of items have been collected for the sale and more are wanted. Anyone having saleable articles which they would like to donate should call any member of the fire department. Auctioneers will be Bill Payne of Amissville and Tom Reese of Culpeper.
Dance cancelled The dance scheduled for Saturday, March 12, at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department hall has been cancelled.
GED testing scheduled Warren County is scheduling its next GED testing session for March 12 at 8 a.m. Interested Rappahannock County residents should contact Miss Jeanie Dwyer at the Rappahannock County School Board Office for further information.
Tai Chi Chuan classes The ancient Chinese mind and body exercise, Tai Chi Chuan, will be taught at Middle St. Gallery, beginning March 17. Its slow, gentle movements foster both physical exertion’and mental concentration. Afternoon sessions run 3-4 p.m., evenings from 7:45-9 p.m. Cost is $35 per month, $25 for senior citizens. 1988 baseball registration The 1988 baseball registration for T-ball, Little League and Babe Ruth for ages 6-15 will be held at the Hackley Store parking lot for the Amissville teams on March 12 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Sperryville teams’ registration will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School fields on the same dates and times. Rain date is March 26. Fees will be collected at the time of registration.
Pancake supper A pancake supper will be served at the Salem Ruritan Club March 12 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu offers pancakes, syrup, sausage, applesauce arftT drinks at $4 for adults, $2 for children under 12. The club house is on Rt. 522 at Griffinsburg. For information call 937-5689.
