Although I voted in favor of ‘the president’s package of Contra .aid on Feb. 3, which included some .funds for the purchase of arms and ammunition, I opposed the bill - which was a part of Speaker Jim Wright’s plan - last week.
I opposed the plan sponsored by Speaker of the House Wright because it did not provide effective assistance to the Contra rebels who are resisting the Sandinista regime in Nicaragua.
