Big lottenr winners
Within the space of 48 hours Jast weekend, Hillsdale Grocery had three big prize winners in the Virginia State Lottery. On Friday evening, Pete Clanagan of Washington won $5,000. On Sunday morning, Donna Kestnerof Amissville scratched another $5,000 ticket, and that night Ann Leake of Sperryvilie bought a ticket which won her $1,000. According to Hillsdale's owner, Jerry Foster, lottery officials told him they don't think there is another sales outlet which has sold three - - large winners in such a short time. "They were tickled to death," Mr. Foster said of the winners.
Slaughter’s rep visits
Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr. will send his district representative, Jane Clatterbuck, to Rappahannock County on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the Courthouse from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Residents who wish to discuss matters pending in Congress are invited to come and speak with her.
