She credited the letters of support which the library received from a number of community leaders as probably the factor which ensured the library’s nomination. Letters were enclosed from Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Gangel, the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy (which funded several past library programs), the Chairman of the Library Board, the Middle St. Gallery, RCHS English teacher Jon Heddleston, and RAAC, among others.
Mrs. Brents said that more information about the grant and the dates that the program will run would be announced after Mrs. Sims returns from San Diego.
