Julia Settle
Julia Miller Settle, 87, of Flint Hill, died Sept. 29 in the Royal Haven Rest Home, Front Royal.
Mrs. Settle was born Nov. 23, 1900, in Washington, daughter of the late John J. and Evelyn Tyler Miller. She was married to .James M. Settle, who was Clerk of the Court of Rappahannock County for 40 years.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Rappahannock County Garden Club and the Warren Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband predeceased her Surviving are one son, James M. Settle Jr., Alexandria; three daughters, Mary S. Bowersett, Venice, Fla., Evelyn S. Petersen, Alexandria, and Carol S. Bowersett, Silver Spring, Md., one sister, Nancy M. Booth, Washington, D.C.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Oct. 3 in the Masonic Cemetery in Washington by the Rev. Jennings W. Hobson III.
