Any type of camp can be fun if you give the counselors a chance, give the teen leaders a chance, give other campers a chance, and give the food a chance.
Camp food, contrary to popular belief, can be good. For instance, one night during overnight camp they made a mean Mexican burrito, followed by chocolate pudding. So, give the food a chance.
