The Rappahannock News welcomes contributions to this community forum. Whether our readers agree with the paper’s stand or not, we appreciate their views. And, the more people who express an opinion on timely topics, the more likely it is that all sides of the issue will be debated.
Recently, the newspaper has added an “Op-Ed” page, or “Opposite Editorial.” This contains more lengthy opinion pieces or commentary written either by our readers or staff members.. Whether it’s on a current news event or a column relating a personal experience, it provides another dimension for the newspaper. And that’s important.
Sometimes, that “Perspective” column or “From my chair...” elicits a greater response from readers than the news stories from the monthly government meetings.
Gathering the news and photographs at the office in Washington is only part of the story, however.
