A funeral service was held at Clore Funeral Home Chapel Dec. 21 with the Rev. Garland Hines officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Allen Umberger
Allen Quinn Umberger, 95, of Elkwood, died Dec. 19 at Oak Springs Nursing Home, Warrenton.
Mr. Umberger was a member of Roral Retreat Marvin United Methodist Church and a retired farmer. He was a native of Wythe County and had lived in Elkwood for many years.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Inez Green, Chantilly, Mrs. Gertrude Elam, Elkwood, Mrs. Irene McWhorter, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Clyde Brozerller, Oyster Bay, N.Y.; one son, B.B. Umberger, Elkwood; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
His wife was the late Mattie Lee Umberger.
His parents were the late James H. and Mary Jane Fisher Umberger.
A funeral service was held at Clore Funeral Home Chapel Dec. 21 with the Rev. Gordon George and the Rev. George Insley officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were grandsons.
