The rash of thefts began on Nov. 28, when Cecil Williams’s house on Route 522 was entered. Sheriff Woodward said that Mr. Williams first thought that his burglar alarm had malfunctioned, but then found an outside door open and several things moved around.
Mr. Winner's house was t!he second residence hit, then two days later, on Dec. 14, Maury Nichols’s home was broken into and approximately $60 in change was taken.
The next day, Dec. 15, Roger Welch’s house was also burglarized. Money is also believed to have been taken in that incident, Sheriff Woodward said.
