“One of the things that makes a difference (to the success of getting legislation from the General Assembly) is having a representative there." noted Mr. Dennis, saying that wfth rural counties like Rappahannock, this is best accomplished by the county administrator or the chairman of the board of supervisors.
He noted that John McCarthy was singled out for compliments at a recent subcommittee hearing chaired by Del. Cranwell, a powerful member of the legislature and a probable future governor. “So you’ve got somebody who can do a good job. . .If you can find the money and he can find the time, it would be a good idea for John to spend a few days dow n there."
