The cynics say that our spirit will not last — that our country is doomed to create a “permanent underclass” that threatens our free society. The cynics are dead wrong. ; The people that thrive on the drug trade are betting that our volunteer ; spirit is a flash in the pan. It’s a bad bet. The war on drugs will be won by men and women who care enough to : pitch in — to find out how they can ; nourish volunteer initiatives in their i communities. There are few better I ways to fill our holidays with lasting and meaningful joy.
